Firstly, Alfajores go great with coffee. Alfajores can be made into any flavor by adding different fillings, like fruit preserves or chocolate. Alfajores are very easy to make!

In Argentina, they usually fill them with dulce de leque or other fruit preserves. Alfajores are perfect for many occasions—after-dinner snacks, afternoon tea parties, summer picnics—because they can be eaten both warm and cold.

Did I mention that this is one recipe where leftovers never last long? These little treats disappear fast once baked and filled. Maybe it’s because they taste just as good with a cup of coffee at 8 p.m. as they do at 8 a.m.!

One thing is certain: I’ll always have time to enjoy another alfajor, no matter what day it is!
