Allow the rice to simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes or until it has absorbed all the liquid.

5. Rice Pilaf

Traditional rice pilaf is perfect if you want to serve it with kabobs. To make it, measure long-grain white rice and place it in a saucepan with vegetable or chicken broth. Bring the broth to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer while covered.

10. Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad

Shaved Brussels sprout salad is a nutrient-packed, easy-to-make side dish for kabobs, perfect for your next barbecue or get-together. 

Basically, you peel the outer layer of the sprouts, shave them using a mandolin (or in a bowl with a knife), toss them in olive oil, salt, and pepper, and let them marinate for about 30 minutes.

Lastly, add thinly sliced red onion for extra crunch, and serve! This recipe makes about three cups of shaved Brussels sprout salad.

11. Tzatziki

Let’s get started! Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Cut two or three sweet potatoes or yams into bite-sized pieces. Once they are peeled, wash them off under running water.
