In our previous post, we have done a lot on aging and premature aging, in this post, I will just educate you on some of the best natural oils that fight aging effectively and how to use them.

Some of these oils are essential while some are not, they are carrier oils, at the end of this article, I will tell you how best to use essential oil and avoid potential risks of toxicity.

I will show you how to make your own anti-aging serum yourself, this will hydrate your skin richly and protect your skin from damages because it has a high content of antioxidants.

This serum will heal your skin and increase communication between the cells of your skin because of its rich content of phytonutrients.

You will need the following ingredients:

  • A small glass vial
  • Jojoba oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Pomegranate seed oil or other antioxidant-rich oil like raspberry seed oil, rosehip seed oil, lavender, or frankincense oil.

You can get all these oils from a reputable and good health store. The glass vial you get should be in a dropper form so that you can easily put the number of drops you want on your fingertips and apply it on your skin.

You will slow down the process of natural aging if you apply this oil regularly on your skin. Coconut oil mimics our skin sebum and keeps off wrinkles and slow down aging.

It also promotes the production of collagen, a structural protein that holds our skin together. This oil lubricates your skin, makes it supple, smooth, and soft. It is also rich in antioxidants that delay aging.

This fights aging and free radicals. Make sure you use only virgin coconut oil and get it from a reputable source.

Ingredients:

The ingredients for this simple yet highly effective anti-aging night cream:

  • Half teaspoon of lemongrass essential oil
  • Half teaspoon of vitamin E oil

You cannot use all essential oils directly on your skin or face, the reason is that these oils are in their purest forms and they have the highest concentration of the active compound of the herb they were gotten from.

A way to overcome this hurdle is to mix them with carrier oils, these oils are not highly concentrated as essential oils and they help reduce the concentration of these oils and carry it deep into your skin.

Common carrier oils to mix with your essential oils are apricot oil, Grapeseed oil, almond oil, avocado oil, argan oil, coconut oil, and jojoba oil. Choose any carrier oil of your choice and use it dilute your essential oil before applying it topically on your skin. The perfect anti-aging carrier oil to combine with your essential oil is jojoba oil.

When you choose your carrier oil, mix it with the essential oil and pour this mixture in a bottle. To be on a safe side, combine 10 drops of essential oil with one teaspoon of carrier oil.

Apply this blend two times daily on your body or face, most especially in the morning and at night. Make sure your face or body is clean before applying this oil blend to make it more effective.

How to Know if An Essential Oil is Safe for You?

You have to do a patch test before applying essential oil on your body. Apply a drop of the mixture on a small portion of your skin, preferably on the inside of your elbow.

Leave it there for 24 hours, if you did not see any reaction, you can go ahead and use it but if you reacted to it, don’t use it, try another essential oil.

And make sure you purchase pure essential oil from a good health store, avoid those with lots of additives and additional ingredients.
