We can agree that New year resolutions are the most cliche and tedious, so don’t you think it’s time to mix things up a bit?
Here, we have put together ten realistic suggestions for alternative new year resolutions.
1. Get Your Photo Taken In Five beautiful Places
If you love to travel but haven’t been able to visit the places on your list, this new year may be the best time to see more of the world you live in.
Make it a resolution to visit at least five places around the world or in your city, depending on what your wallet tells you. To make it memorable, take a beautiful picture in each of these places.
I could give several suggestions on places you should consider visiting, but let’s leave that to your instincts. Remember not to go overboard with your spending on each trip, so you don’t get discouraged.
Because the world is your oyster, there’s no limit to the beautiful places waiting to welcome your awesome.
2. Learn A Decent Party Trick
So, this might not be the story for every single person, but I have noticed I’m able to do several fantastic stuff after a few bottles of my favorite beer.
If you’re on that boat too, then it’s probably time to try out that party trick without alcohol. You may be amazed to find out it’s not as difficult as you thought.
If you don’t fall into the category of people who do magic only after a few bottles, you could just decide to learn a party trick you find interesting.
There are tons of tricks out there waiting for the perfect person to show them off, and this is the right time for you to be that person.
No matter how uninteresting you think you are, a simple party trick may be all you need to learn for the world to be impressed. Try learning to spell ten big words backward in a few seconds.
3. Break A Record
Sometimes, it’s not as if we lack confidence; it’s just that we need some little something to boost it up.
So, one of the best ways to boost your confidence may be to break a record. Don’t assume breaking a record means doing something no one else has done.
If you can do that, fine, but if you can’t, all you need do is break a personal record. It could be breaking a workout record; It could be losing the most weight you’ve ever lost and getting your dream body or making a delicious dessert in a few minutes.
Whatever record you choose to break, make sure that it doesn’t push you to harm yourself or pressure yourself too much.
Besides, there are so many records out there waiting to be broken. And honestly, some of them are not even worth the energy people put into breaking them, but still, they got broke. Boost your confidence in the new year by achieving that title.
4. Make A New Friend A Month
Recently, people have been all about not wanting a large circle and doing away with fake friends and all that stuff.
Nobody wants to be surrounded by people with bad energy, but that isn’t an excuse to be without friends. It is a fact that friends are healthy for you, and the more friends you have around you, the happier you are.
Take your time to make good friends in the coming year. The goal is to make at least one friend a month, and twelve by the end of the year.
Meeting new people and communicating better with them could open doors for you and even help you learn more about yourself. You make friends from other places around the world and share experiences via social media.
Be the positive energy you want, and see how you attract more people with similar mindset.
5. Develop A Good Relationship With Your Body
I think almost everyone has a new-year resolution that, in one way or another, are linked to improving their looks or posture.
Your body is the only home you’ve got to live in, so you must take good care of it. This new year, make it a duty to show yourself all the love you deserve.
Loving and caring for your body is a great way to fix most of life’s problems. When you look and feel good, you become bolder and more confident wherever you go. If you need to put in some weight, do it with a healthy diet.
And if you must shed a few pounds, hit the gym alone or with friends and cut the junk out of your diet. No matter how you look, loving yourself and feeling either handsome or beautiful is excellent for your mental health.
6. Learn Something You Never Learned As A Child
You may be the CEO of 5 companies, own houses everywhere, be a great chef, and do so many adult stuff correctly, but can you fly a kite?
A-ha! Sounds childish and hilarious, but these are the little things that make life beautiful for most people.
Being a child doesn’t necessarily mean being small and having a mommy to make you breakfast and do your laundry, you can be grown up and still be a child at heart. This year, I’m going to learn how to ride a bike, and I don’t care how funny I look while at it.
Some of you don’t even know how to spell ‘necessary’ right. This is the time to learn those ‘big’ spellings once and for all. There are apps to help you if you don’t want to do the pen, notepad, and dictionary thing.
7. Try A New Food Each Week
Did you cut some foods out of your diet this year? Don’t repeat that in the coming year. I understand that more people are trying to lose weight than gain weight, so eating something new every week may not be on your to-do list.
Well, I love to try fresh foods from around the world, and cooking them is the most exciting part for me. It would be nice to taste something new every weekend, and it doesn’t have to be something fattening. Have you ever eaten a sycamore fruit?
This is the best time to try it. Look for a new fruit or vegetable to try or visit a local restaurant where they sell foods you’ve never tasted before. Oh! You can drink something you’ve never tried before.
