While celebrity marriages are on the increase and engagements are on the rise among celebrities, some other celebrities vow never to walk down the aisle.

Although they have their reasons which are actually tangible enough for them, well we won’t really get to see their wedding bells ringing, no not ever.

Apparently for these ones, love works but not just down the aisle. They simply prefer to just “get in and get out” of relationships however they please without having to ever say their vows.

Some are our favorite actors and actresses and they are simply saying, we should never expect to hear them say they are getting married.

They include:

1. Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey

Our dear Oprah has vowed never to walk down the aisle. Even though she has been with her boyfriend Stedman Graham since like 1986 (are you surprised?) and they even got engaged something in 1992, the duo have no intentions whatsoever to say their vows or even walk down the aisle.

Oprah said in an interview way back in 2003 with essence Magazine that if she and Stedman had walked down that aisle, they would have gotten a divorce and may not even be talking to each other let alone be together. She said that their relationship is by no means the normal traditional relationship.

In 2013, she also reaffirmed her words and said that she intended to die and leave the earth with the title “Miss” and not “Mrs”. This means that she intends to stay unmarried as long as she lives… Surprising wouldn’t you say?

2. Halle Berry

Halle Berry

Beautiful and stunning Halle has also vowed never to say the words “I do” again. This was a vow she made after her divorce in 2005 from the singer Eric Benét. Before she married Eric, she had also married the baseball player David Justice. In her words to Instyle in 2007, she said “I will never never get married again”.

However, love found her and she was willing to break her vow. This she did when she got married to Olivier Martinez in 2013 but the duo couldn’t last beyond 3years and they had eventually split in 2016.

Now, Halle says she is no longer breaking her vow anymore. Her perspective about marriage had had a massive spin after undergoing three divorces. In her words, she said ” As women, we go into marriage thinking that we have met our Prince charming on a shinning horse and its going to be together forever.

This was what I learnt as a kid from fairy tales. Now, fairy tales are all lies and I am anti-fairy tales from now on”
