What to Serve With Queso Dip?

Queso dip is everyone’s favorite party appetizer, but what should be served with it? These recipes pair perfectly with queso dip and keep party-goers returning for more, making your queso dip the party star. 

We’ve included a combination of Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites and international choices to spice things up!

Each of these recipes would be delicious alongside homemade queso dip or store-bought varieties like Cholula brand queso dip, which is available at most grocery stores.

1. Ground Beef Tacos 

 Ground beef Tacos are a great option if you want to serve them with queso dip.

Meanwhile, if you want tacos, make some ground beef tacos! Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef.

Add onion, garlic, and salt to taste. Drain any excess fat after the meat is cooked through and no longer pink. Next,  pour taco seasoning into the meat mixture and stir well.

Add canned black beans and simmer for about 15 minutes to mix the flavors nicely.

This can be served in a bowl or on top of tortillas, perfect for dipping into your queso dip.

2. Chicken Burritos

You can’t go wrong with a comforting dish like chicken burritos when pairing your queso dip with food.

This easy and filling meal will satisfy all your guests with just five ingredients. 

The best part is that no cooking is required! Mix softened cream cheese and ranch dressing a few hours before the party.

Then, add crumbled bacon and shredded rotisserie chicken, which makes for the perfect high-protein after-dinner treat!

3. Crunchy Mexican Salad

Serve this with queso dip. Crunchy Mexican Salad makes a delicious side dish for queso dip.

Tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and avocados are the perfect ingredients for this flavorful salad.

You can add any of your favorite veggies or use black beans instead of corn tortillas as the protein source. 

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl before tossing in the corn tortillas so they have time to soften up in the dressing and take on some of the flavors.

And, if you have time to plan, pre-make the avocado dressing!

4. Grilled Veggies in Queso

Grilled veggies are an easy, tasty alternative if you don’t have time to make a full meal.

Season the vegetables by brushing olive oil and sprinkling salt and pepper.

Then grill them on each side for 2-4 minutes or until tender but not mushy. Toss the cooked vegetables in your favorite queso dip for a quick, nutritious side dish

Also, you can place some cooked veggies into individual cheese cups lined with tortillas (one per person) and other flavorful toppings like salsa or sour cream, then microwave them for two minutes at 50% power.

5. Baked Potato Wedges

Baked potato wedges are a great option if you are looking for what to serve with queso dip.

To start, peel and cut a potato into wedges. Place the wedges in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 10 minutes. 

After soaking, rinse the excess water and place the wedges on a tray or baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.

Cook for about 40 minutes or until you can poke the potatoes easily through to the other side. Season them lightly with salt and serve them alongside queso dip!

6. Pretzel Bites

Pretzel bites are a party favorite, and these cheese-covered, golden brown nuggets of goodness make the perfect addition to your platter.

You’ll need six ounces of light or dark corn syrup,  melted butter,  salt, onion, powder, and cayenne pepper.

Next, combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat until boiling.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly before stirring in eight cups of pretzels (the grocery store usually has an 8-ounce package). 

Also, spread pretzels on a cookie sheet and sprinkle generously with cheddar cheese on wax paper. Pop them into your oven for about 15 minutes at 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

7. Garlic Bread

Chances are, you’ve had queso dip before. It’s the quintessential Tex-Mex dish. But for this appetizer, what should you serve with queso dip? A touch of garlic will make it more irresistible.

Plus, garlic bread is pretty easy to whip up and serves as a hearty accompaniment that’ll help tame that spice kick in your mouth.

 Best of all, we have two options you can try out!

  1. Classic Garlic Bread – Mince some fresh garlic cloves and brush them onto the bread before throwing it into the oven, or grill it with melted butter on the stovetop until golden brown. Yum! 
  2. Spicy Garlic Bread – Add crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper for an extra kick!
