Infinix Mobility is steadily adjusting and speeding up its 2020 plans with the release of new phones as we prepare for the post COVID 19 era. The release of the Infinix Hot 9 after the Note 7 series confirms just how the company is coming along.
Infinix Mobility has released the Infinix Hot 9 Pro Android device, the bigger sibling of the Infinix Hot device.
Infinix decision not to release the pro version of the Infinix Hot 8 may have prevented some people from upgrading, hence the need for this pro variant.
Today we will be looking at the features and specifications of this device.

Design
The Infinity O screen design (hole in screen or punch hole display) has officially replaced the notched design in the Hot Series and it was used on this smartphone. The Infinix Hot 8 smartphone featured a notch display while the Hot 9 Pro Pro was upgraded to the Infinity O display.
The phone is not entirely bezel-less as the frames can be seen but the bezels are greatly limited, and the chin too witnessed some reductions in the size.
The design of this smartphone seems to have been copied from the Tecno Spark 5 Pro as the front-facing LED flash and speaker grille are all fixed on the top frame.
The back side of the phone is home to the rear cameras. The Infinix Hot 9 Pro added an extra module to the camera setup as an upgrade over the Infinix Hot 8. The Hot 8 featured a triple camera setup while the Hot 9 Pro Pro had a quad camera set up.
The camera lenses are arranged in a d dual vertical row with the 4 lens occupying one column and the other column has a triple LED flash, and “AI QUAD CAMERA 48m” inscription.
The fingerprint sensor sits at the center and just under it is the Infinix Brand. The HOT series brand follows at the bottom.
The right hand side houses the volume na d power buttons. The base of the phone has a 3.5mm jack, a dedicated mic, a USB 2.0 port, and a speaker.
Going to the dimensions, the height is 165.4mm, width is 76.8mm and thickness stands at 8.8mm.The phone is not too heavy as it has 185g of weight, lighter than most other phones in its category.
The frame of the Infinix Hot 9 Pro Pro is made of plastic and the back is made of polycarbonate material. The color options available are Midnight Black, Quetzal Cyan, Violet, Ocean Wave
Infinix Hot 9 Pro Display Specifications
The Infinix Hot 9 Pro features an infinity O design with the selfie camera housed at the top left side of the screen. This makes it a little bit less obstructive.
The display features a 6.6-inch display panel. The panel type is TFT HD+ occupying up to 90% of the phone’s size in the screen-to-body ratio measurements (other sources pegs it around 83%)
Once again. like Tecno, Infinix stuck with the 720p pixel display resolution. The full display resolution stands at 720 x 1600 pixels with 266 pixels per inch. For a pro device, I definitely expected more. display resolution is on par with the Infinix Hot 8.
The graphics processing unit onboard is the Imagination IMG PowerVR8320 chip. Though not ideal for gaming, it still does the job well.
Camera Specifications
Yeah yeah, I know Infinix will wave the 48MP main shooter in our faces as the upgrade but I can also rant too (haha, we have to push them to deliver more quality right?)
The rear camera consists of a quad camera setup and features a 48MP main shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and a QVGA camera.
The 48 MP is a great improvement over the 13MP/16MP in the Hot 9 smartphone. For the love of more, I would have loved to see a 5MP depth sensor too.
The selfie camera remains the same as the 8MP selfie camera continues to reign so as not to put pressure on other Transsion devices like the Camon 15 and Infinix S5 devices.
There is a triple LED flash at the back and a single LED flash at the front. Nighttime shots shouldn’t be a problem. Also, the camera software has some nice features to help take pictures and videos well.
Processor and Memory
The Helio P22 might be MediaTek’s best selling chipset, or Infinix has a great love for it. The Chip is featured in this smartphone as an upgrade over the Helio A25 chip used in the Infinix Hot 9.
The MediaTek Helio P22 is an octacore processor and has Cortex A53 chips with 2.0GHz maximum clock speed.
The Infinix Hot 9 Pro smartphone has 4GB or RAM space and 64GB of storage space. The RAM is sufficient for multitasking and the storage should is good too.
There is an external SD card slot for memory expansion.
OS, Connectivity, and Battery
The Infinix Hot 9 Pro runs on Android 10 under the XOS 6 skin. This comes with dark mode and some third-party apps and features.
The Infinix Hot 9 Pro is a 4G device, with WiFI enabled and Bluetooth 5.0. According to the official website, ic can connect to FDD: B1 / B3/ B5/ B7 / B8/ B20 / B28A and TDD: B38 / B40 / B41. The sensors include a fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass.
A 5000mAH battery powers the device, providing enough juice to last a couple of days on a full charge.
Should You Buy The Infinix Hot 9 Pro?
Sure, it is a nice device. There is 4GB of RAM space so your device will not lag. Also, the storage is great and the takes some time before it gets filled.
Does the Infinix Hot 9 Pro have a lasting battery?
Definitely. There is a lot you can do with a 5000mAh battery. With a full charge, you shouldn’t worry about draining down the battery entirely as it will go over 12 hours of daylight even when tasked heavily.
What About The Camera
You may not fancy the 8MP selfie camera but the 48MP rear lens is surely good enough for a lot of camera enthusiasts. In as much as we are obsessed with taking the best pictures, we rarely use our cameras.
How Much Does the Infinix Hot ProCost?
The phone price starts around N65000 based on the price available on other markets.
